At the Laughlin Desert Classic being held this upcoming weekend by the Best In the Desert (BITD) race series, a classic event is returning: the Laughlin Leap.
As the name already suggests, the event is about seeing who’s rig can jump the furthest, and it is open to all car, truck and UTV classes. The leap hasn’t happened for over 10 years, so it’s certainly exciting to see the spectacle return.
The first two rounds of leaping will be bracket-style competition, while the third and final will determine the winner. The rules are simple: jump further than you opponent. Entering a vehicle will cost $100 and staging begins at 6:30pm on Saturday, October 13th. Ten thousand dollars are up for grabs for the winner, plus some other sweet prizes.
The Method Race Wheels Laughlin Desert Classic Presented by Polaris is the big race of the weekend, while the inaugural UTV night race will run on Thursday night. Multi-heat style racing will dominate on Saturday and Sunday for the car, truck and UVT classes.
