Stephane Peterhansel, better known as Mr. Dakar, made up some time on stage 7, taking the win and moving into second spot overall.
Nani Roma came in second in the car category on stage 7, vaulting into third position overall. But Nasser Al-Attiyah, the Toyota driver, holds onto the lead by 29 minutes.

British moto racer Sam Sunderland took the win on stage 7, moving into fourth place overall. American racer Ricky Brabec holds onto the overall lead, but by just 7 minutes over Adrien Van Beveren.
The quad category continues to be a runaway for Nicolas Cavigliasso, winning the stage and growing his lead over Jeremias Ferioli to one hour and 15 minutes.
Last year’s winner in the side-by-side category, Reinaldo Varela, has pushed into the lead, taking second spot on stage 7. Francisco Contardo is close behind, with just four minutes separating them.
And the Kamaz Master truck of Eduard Nikolaev continues to lead overall by half an hour, though he finished third on stage 7 behind the Iveco of De Rooy.
