The second stage of Dakar is in the books, and Sebastien Loeb had a day to remember.

Though Loeb won the day, de Villiers now commands the overall standings in the car category, ahead of Bernhard Ten Brinke and Nani Roma.
In the side-by-side category, the Can-Ams of Contardo and Varela continue to battle it out, with Contardo victorious on the second stage by 19 seconds over Varela. This leaves Varela in the lead overall, but the gap is just one minute and eight seconds between the two Can-Ams overall.
Matthias Walkner took the win on the stage for the motos by just 22 seconds over Ricky Brabec. Joan Barreda came in third on the stage, but is leading the moto class overall, leading Matthias Walkner by one minute and 31 seconds.
Cavigliasso continues his perfect run winning the second stage on his quad and opening up a 21 minute gap in the overall standings.
In the big trucks, Eduard Nikolaev remains perfect, winning both stages and leading the pack by four minutes and 23 seconds. De Rooy in his Iveco is close on Nikolaev’s heels though, yet another close battle to watch.
