Nikola has dropped details on the production-ready Nikola NZT side-by-side, and while the machine sounds impressive, it also won’t come cheap.
Nikola is claiming power output of 590 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque, produced by four electric motors, one mounted at each wheel. That is good to propel this 5250-pounds vehicle to 60 mph in four seconds flat.
All that power is sent to 35-inch tires wrapped around 17-incn wheels.
Nikola is advertising a 150-mile range, with charge time amounting to just two hours if you have a DC fast charger. With a 240v home charger, a full charge will take 15 hours.
The NZT is fairly large as well with a 72-inch width and 125-inch wheelbase. Ground clearance measures in at 12 inches. Suspension travel totals 18-inches in the front and the rear thanks to 3.0-inch FOX Internal Bypass shocks. Towing capacity has been pegged at 3000 pounds.
Every NZT can seat four people and can be had with an optional full hardtop enclosure, seen in the photos above. On the inside, a big 13-inch touchscreen comes standard in the center stack along with a 7-inch display screen in front of the driver.
The biggest number of them though, is the price. Nikola says that the starting price tag for the NZT will be $80,000, a seriously expensive proposition in a world full of side-by-sides for $30,000 and less.
Production is set to begin in 2021 and you can already place an order for a NZT.
