2020 Polaris General XP1000 Arrives Wider and Taller Than Ever Before

Polaris has revealed the 2020 General, giving its midsize recreation unit more capability in just about every area.

First of all, the General has now grown to 64-inches wide, an increase of 1.5-inches compared to previous models. Ground clearance is up to 13.5-inches thanks to new suspension and 30-inch Pro Armor Crawler tires. Total suspension travel is up to 14-inches in the front and the rear on these models.

The General XP1000 and XP 4 1000 both still pack 100 horsepower thanks to a 999cc DOHC twin cylinder engine. Payload capacity for the General checks in at 1,100 pounds while tow rating is rated at 1,500 pounds.

Plenty of added features were made standard on the 2020 General as well, including a 4500-pound winch, a sport low profile front bumper, ProFit sport roof, convex rear view mirror and a Rockford Fosgate Stage 1 audio system. New long distance LED headlights also help to draw less power and look further ahead.

Polaris’ Ride Command infotainment system can be had as well in the new General thanks to a Factory Choice package.

Starting prices for the General XP 1000, available in Matte Navy Blue and a Glossy Stealth Grey, come in at $22,999. The General XP 4 1000 starts at $24,999. Models will begin shipping to Polaris dealers in October.
