A $100,000 Toyota Tacoma?

Andre recently attended an overlanding event in Oregon where he met a man named Austin who claimed to have a $100K Toyota Tacoma Overlander. It might be more accurate to say that this Tacoma may have had $100K invested in it. The vehicle in question is a used 2010 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-road crew cab.

The 2010 Toyota Tacoma V6 comes with a 236 horsepower engine that makes 266 lbs-feet of torque. A five-speed automatic transmission is available as is a six-speed manual transmission. The 2010 Toyota Tacoma TRD has a 21 gallon fuel tank.

The proof is in the greenbacks.

To watch this video, you can certainly see how so much money could be spent on this vehicle. Everything from the lightweight wheels, trick suspension and dual battery setup are great for off-road adventures. The serious upgrades have to do with the Australian-built, lightweight camper and all of the small upgrades.

Right off the bat, getting the Tacoma and leaving the powertrain alone is a smart bet. Tacos are known for being rock solid and reliable. With the addition of smart parts (including rear leaf springs from a Toyota Hilux), the basis for this overlander is smart.

It looks cool too.

In this video, Andre gets an in depth tour of what might be, one of the most expensive 2010 Toyota Tacomas built for overlanding. Or, do you have one that’s even pricier? Let us know!
