A new report from the Wall Street Journal has confirmed that GM has decided to bring Hummer back, though it won’t be like it was before.
This time around, the Hummer badge will be used on a GMC product, and it will be an off-road focused all-electric pickup truck. No details are available beyond that, but it’s certainly exciting to hear that Hummer will return.
According to the WSJ, the announcement will be made by Lebron James during the 2020 Super Bowl on February 2.
A recent investment into the Detroit-Hamtramck manufacturing plant has already been earmarked for EVs, so it makes sense that the new Hummer-branded GMC will be built there.
Stay tuned to the upcoming Super Bowl to see if the rumors are true and if Hummer is actually on its way back.
