On the latest Dude, I Love (Or Hate) My New Ride, we met up with the owner of a 2018 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X who loves his little truck, besides one big problem.
Sean has been driving his Frontier now for over a year and the truck has performed reliably. After shopping around at a few different dealers, he managed to find one willing to offer more for his trade-in along with a better dealer discount, proving that it can pay off to shop around.
Once home, Sean enjoyed the powertrain, ride and handling of the truck straight away, though the small Frontier does have a poor turning radius. Regularly towing a small camping trailer along with a pontoon boat, the 4.0-liter V6 under the hood offers plenty of torque to get Sean’s toys moving around southern and central Ontario.
Just about everything with his Frontier has been ideal, except for the paint. Any area of the truck that is exposed to rock damage, like the quarter panels and bumpers, have all experienced serious stone chips, beyond what you would expect a vehicle to endure.
Nissan chalks the damage up to “environmental damage” and thus far Sean has been left with the repair bill, about $2500.
So would Sean buy the truck again? You’ll have to watch the full video interview above to find out.
